Guardiola shrugs off nostalgia before Barca finale

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola was in no mood for nostalgia before his final game in charge as he fended off queries over a reportedly troubled relationship with his president and defended the team's decision to replace him with his assistant.

Friday's Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao provides Guardiola with the chance for a 14th trophy to close one of the most successful coaching spells of any team. He's also helped elevate his team to perhaps one of football's greatest of all time.

But instead of a smooth send-off, Guardiola appeared to be showing the strain of questions over his exit, including from former Barcelona great Johan Cruyff.

Guardiola said Tito Vilanova's appointment was never a surprise and that his longtime friend would do just fine after taking over.

"It feels like in the last couple of days this idea that Pep has to explain his relationship with Tito has emerged. Tito has helped make me the coach I am today after five years together," Guardiola said on Thursday from the Camp Nou.

He explained the idea was first floated in November before the Champions League exit to Chelsea led him to push Vilanova toward the post.

"After the loss to Chelsea I called Tito into my office and told him I didn't have the necessary strength to continue on."

Guardiola expects Vilanova to do well despite Cruyff's questioning over the club's future in an interview with newspaper El Periodico on Thursday.

"With Guardiola going it's the end of a cycle and the start of a new one. He was the one in charge and now who will lead? We'll see how it turns out," Cruyff said.

The 41-year-old Guardiola said there were no regrets during his time in charge, without specifying on any particular successes. Dealing with Eric Abidal's health concerns have been the toughest part of the job, while losing to Chelsea last month was also hard.

Guardiola was tense to start the 30-minute news conference as his relationship with president Sandro Rosell in the buildup to his exit continues to be questioned. Rosell's long-running problems with predecessor Joan Laporta, who hired Guardiola as the B team coach in 2007 before promoting him one year later, are reportedly behind the spat.

"Both (presidents) have always given me exactly what I needed to succeed," Guardiola said. "When the club needs me I'll be here. The club is what matters, I've never asked anything of it, I've always tried to do the best possible.

"Everyone's contributed to this success, I haven't done anything more."

Guardiola said he would not return to working as a football pundit in the future as he takes a sabbatical from the job. He is listening to offers with the most enticing suitor able to count on his return.

"I will receive all the calls with pleasure, but for the next month I have to recharge my batteries, recharge my mind," Guardiola said. "I will be ready (to return) if one club wants me and seduces me."

The trouble with Adam Lambert | QSaltLake - Utah Gay and Lesbian ...

Pop star talks ?novelty? of his homosexuality, being an unfit role model and his peculiar sex toy

Remember the fuss Adam Lambert caused when he tongued his keyboardist in front of the world? Of course you do. The controversial kiss drew both homophobic outbursts and so-what shrugs, and it?s an American Music Awards moment that won?t soon be forgotten. Especially by Lambert himself.

?That was an interesting night,? he says, snickering in his charmingly guy-next-door way about that seminal smooch. ?That AMAs performance was trespassing, in a way.? And, on his latest album, he?s not done crossing the line: Trespassing is the defiant second to the American Idol spawn?s 2009 debut.

In this candid interview with Lambert, the pop star opens up about the ?redundant? press questions regarding his sexuality, becoming more confident as an out celebrity, and breaking the rules ? and going to jail for it.

What does the album title, Trespassing, mean to you?

Being who I am in this music environment is trespassing, and that?s why Pharrell [Williams] and I wrote it about that. We had a big conversation about the music industry and the business and being an artist, and then on top of it, being somebody that?s different, being a gay man and being in an industry where it?s not very common, not very present. Kind of feeling like I?m gonna own this, march forward and ignore any kind of sign or person telling me no. I?m gonna do what I wanna do and not feel sorry for myself.

Is anything you do for shock value premeditated??

No; I don?t think, ?OK, I want to piss people off now? or ?I want to shock people.? I kind of ? especially after the [AMAs], go with what I want to do musically. That?s been more in the forefront for me in my decision-making. I think just kind of being, and being unapologetic for being, is a risk in and of itself in today?s music industry.

Was the AMAs kiss good for you?

I don?t even know. I was in such autopilot. It was one of those weird moments that just kind of happened. Some of the choreography earlier in the number was planned, but that whole moment with him was just, ?Oh my god, now we?re kissing!?

You?ve spoken with gay publications and mainstream publications. How is it different talking to each?

I try not to make it any different. That?s been one of my big goals, especially with this album. This time around I?m trying to adopt a post-gay mentality about it, because I?m so proud of who I am and I?m 100 percent positive about it and I celebrate it ? but I also think it?s a bit dated to harp on it and to lean on it and to constantly be defined by your sexuality.

I think that gay men and women who live their lives as gay men and women understand that, and understand that it?s just another part of who they are. Unfortunately, with some mainstream publications, it?s such a novelty for them to be able to talk about it. It?s such a hot-button issue that it becomes the focus of a lot of discussion.

Does that bother you?

(Hesitates) It gets a bit redundant. Gets a little old. It?s something I?ve made peace with; I?m trying to just look at it from the other point of view and realize that a lot of the questions are legitimate for someone who doesn?t understand. I think the way to progress and confront ignorance is information. You start talking about things and we get past them. So yeah, it gets a bit redundant, but I feel like at this point, it just comes with the territory that I?m trespassing on.

What challenges have you run into not just as an artist but a gay artist?

Well, there?s a huge double standard. Straight artists are constantly toying with images of sexuality and double entendre lyrics; when a gay male artist does, it raises a lot more eyebrows. I?m trying to find the balance, and I think this album has found a balance. It?s not shying away from it at all ? my sexuality or who I am or my identity ? but it?s also universal. All of these ideas are universal: how I feel, wanting to go get laid, to go have a couple drinks with my friends and get a little nasty. Hopefully, for an open-minded individual, no matter what their sexual preference is, they?ll relate. Everybody feels that way. Everybody wants to have a good time, let go and feel free, no matter who you are. What?s cool about the album is that it does specifically address my lifestyle and my experience in nightlife and in relationships, but I think it can reach anybody.

Does being a gay celebrity put pressure on you to spearhead the gay movement? To have to be more political??

I don?t feel pressure to be political, but I do feel pressure to raise social awareness and to help be a confident voice for perhaps a young gay teenager who doesn?t really have a lot to look up to. I also find it dangerous, because I don?t always consider myself the best role model in the world. (Laughs)

Why do you say that?

Because I?m not here to teach anybody how to be gay and I?m not here to teach anybody how to be the best person. I?m not always the best example. I make mistakes and I do things that are out-there sometimes, but what I hope to inspire is the sense that people can be who they want to be. I always say, ?Don?t do what I do; do what you want to do.? I hope that I can inspire people to take control and charge of their own reality.

What can we expect from this album?

One of the best parts about the album, as well as it being about an out and proud gay man, is that the first half of the album is very upbeat and electro-funk-dance-pop, and a lot of the things expressed in the first half of that album are rebelliousness and liberation and these kind of anthemic calls to arms. It explores, as gay men and people in general, that when we go out into the world we have to put on our game face. You want to go out and feel fierce, and that fierce thing that we all put on is sometimes like an outfit: We dress it up and we project fierceness, but what lies underneath is sometimes weakness and vulnerability and pain and darkness. The album transitions into that place midway through ? it?s very dark and quite sad and it?s dealing with heartache and insecurity. It shows a lot about what lies underneath the surface of me, but I think we all can relate to that. We all want to be our fiercest self, and it takes a certain amount of posturing and peacocking to be that. I hope people can find themselves in this music.

Tell me about the song ?Outlaws of Love.?

That song actually is about everything ? it?s about gay marriage, it?s about every challenge that we face as a community, including gay marriage, but it?s more about that emotion of what it feels like when you?re being persecuted or outlawed or shunned because of whom you choose to love.

You?ve been reluctant to talk about politics in the past. But something seems to have changed in you; you?ve been more open to discussing politics and equal rights. What changed?

You know what I think? It?s so fast. All of a sudden everyone?s talking about me and I?m on the cover of a magazine. No matter how well-adjusted you are, that?s a weird thing to get used to. Over the past several years, with the first album and the first tour, I?ve got more comfortable in the public eye and I?ve gotten to know my fans more and I?ve sussed out who I want to be as an artist.

But not just as an artist. As a gay man in the public eye too, right??

Yeah, as a person. Totally. I?ve kept a lot of my close friends close and my family is still close to me, but of course this type of experience and this flip in your lifestyle causes you to adjust ? and that includes as a gay man. I?ve had to adjust and reassess things and evolve a little bit, and that?s because of age, too. When I started I was 27, and I just turned 30 ? those three years are a big three years. My perspective is just different ? it?s different because of celebrity, but also just because of life.

What?s one piece of advice from American Idol that you?ve held onto?

I had a lot of support from my circle of friends who were like, ?Just do what you?ve always done. It doesn?t matter that you?re on TV now; just do what you?ve always known.? The hardest thing about the show is all of a sudden, there?s all this pressure and all these factors that you aren?t used to as a performer, and you have to tune it out and just trust your own gut and try to maintain that sense of integrity. And it?s not easy. Then, transitioning into the music industry is the same challenge. You?re like, ?OK, well, I gotta play the game but I also want to do what I want to do, so how do I do that??

You were in the slammer for a few hours for fighting with your boyfriend, Sauli Koskinen, outside a gay bar in Finland. Did it fulfill any fantasies of yours?

(Laughs) Uh, no. Actually, it was horrifying. I was by myself; there wasn?t anybody else in there. It was a private cell. It was a very embarrassing moment and not something that I?m proud of. I have plenty of friends who have had crazy nights and things have happened, and these things do happen to regular people; I am a regular person, but I just happen to have a higher profile. I?ve tried to walk away from the experience and learn a lesson from it and make some adjustments and try not to let it ever happen again. It definitely wasn?t as dramatic as the media made it out to be, but it also wasn?t something to laugh about.

So it?s not true what they say about young guys in jail?

Not from my experience!

What?s different about maintaining a relationship in the public eye versus out of it?

People wanting to know what?s up and asking questions. But I don?t know. To be honest with you, I only maintained one relationship out of the public eye, so I?m kind of inexperienced either way. (Laughs) I was a bachelor for a long time! I definitely played the field. So I think just being in a relationship that?s become quite domestic actually feels really good; it?s something I hadn?t really experienced much before, and I?m really enjoying it. It actually fits in quite well with my new lifestyle because it?s more private, it?s more at-home, and that?s nice.

Do you want to be married and raise a family?

Yeah, someday. I definitely want that for myself at some point. I don?t know when that?s going to be. In fact, I don?t know if it?s anytime soon. I?m really excited that our society is progressing. Everybody has the divine right to marry whomever the fuck they want. The funny thing about being a gay celebrity is all of a sudden it?s like, ?Oh, are you going to get married since that?s the new big struggle and that?s the thing everyone is fighting for?? And I?m like, ?I can fight for it without getting married myself.? I don?t need to get married for my people. That?s silly.

What does it take to be a Glambert?

Reckless abandon. (Laughs) I think that any sort of die-hard fandom is a crazy, surreal mentality. That?s part of the fun for the Glamberts; they?ve given themselves permission within that community to be kind of insane. And it?s gorgeous and it?s fun and it?s an escape. It?s not real life ? it?s something else. Everybody wants that in some form or another. We all have our different versions of it. For people who are die-hard fans, that?s their way, that?s their obsession and that?s their outlet.

Tell me your best crazed-fan story.

Well, I?ve gotten a lot of very interesting gifts. I don?t know what they?re called specifically, but I remember opening up this small box and it was this metal sex toy and I think you stick it in the tip of your dick ? a urethra rod or something. I don?t know what the fuck it is. (Laughs)

Did you use it?

I definitely did not use that. That is not my style. I looked at it and said, ?What the hell is that?? And somebody had to answer that for me and then I went, ?OK, I?m gonna pass.?

Did you at least re-gift it??

As a joke, I did. I think I gave it to Raja (season-three winner of RuPaul?s Drag Race). He actually was my makeup artist on my tour that same year. I think I gave it to him. I doubt that he kept it, but I know he laughed quite hard.
Who knows where it is right now.?Or what it?s being used for!

There is no time to lose when it comes to home repairs, and you might feel handling the work yourself is something you don't have time for. But you're wrong! It doesn't take long to make home improvements. This guide will help you do home improvement projects easily.

When doing home improvement, be sure you know about the longevity of different items. A chimney, for example, can last upwards of a century. Wooden decks may only be useful for about 15 years. Various types of flooring can last anywhere from 20 years (vinyl) to 100 years (oak). Make sure to consider factors such as these prior to getting involved in a home improvement project.

Change the accessories to give each room of your home a fresh look. It's truly amazing the amount of difference a few bright pillows or a new wall hanging can make in a room. New drapes can also add a little something extra.

You can use 3-D tile instead of buying art for your walls. For instance, a three-dimensional tile works great if you contrast the colors. You can even buy some canvas and a frame and paint colored squares. Anything colorful can work as art.

You don't need to live in a mansion to own a chandelier. A classy-looking chandelier that can pull together an elegant living or dining room can be yours for less than five hundred dollars. Bring out the beauty in hand-cut crystal or glass chandeliers with total wattage of 200 to 400 watts.

Add some protection to all of your floors before painting. If you don't, you will have quite a mess on your wood floors or carpeting. Use layered old newspapers to accomplish this. Other alternatives include a drop cloth or large plastic tarp; both are available at most home improvement centers.

If you are using home improvement to increase the value of your home, consider the porch. A porch is something a person will see when first looking at your home. Incorporate some potted plants, or even some new paint. It's not unreasonable to believe that your home improvement project could potentially generate returns that far exceed your initial investment. Little things like this can go a very long way.

Use a check or charge card payment when you pay your contractor, so you have proof of payment and have the option to stop the payment if necessary. This will ensure that you aren't taken by a scam artist. Credit cards are a good payment method if you need to dispute the work rendered.

Be sure to turn off your water main before you begin working on your water pipes. You really need to know where the shut off valve to the water in your home is located so you can turn it off to work on the sink. Otherwise, you may flood your home!

A chandelier can look at home in any style of decor. Even some very fancy and very attractive chandeliers can be purchased for well under $500, and they can add over a thousand dollars worth of value to the home. If you want a chandelier that will stand out, try getting one that puts out 200-400 watts.

Talk to your contractor and stay honest with your budget so that he can tailor his activities to your needs. Honesty helps your contractor plan for the project. This can help them get the best deal on materials they need. This ensures that everyone wins.

Home improvement projects can range from minor to major projects. You are in good company! You have just read some tips for making home improvement easier. Hopefully, this article has rewarded you with useful knowledge that can help make your home improvement project a smashing success. You should stop reading and get improving!

(AP) ? Opening a new, entrepreneurial era in spaceflight, a ship built by a billionaire businessman sped toward the International Space Station with a load of groceries and other supplies Tuesday after a spectacular, middle-of-the-night blastoff.

The launch of the Falcon 9 rocket and its unmanned Dragon capsule marked the first time a commercial spacecraft has been sent to the orbiting outpost.

Cutting a brilliant, fiery arc through the darkness, the rocket lifted off just before 4 a.m. and smoothly boosted the capsule into orbit. The capsule is expected to rendezvous with the space station within days, delivering a half-ton of provisions for its six crew members.

It is considered just a test flight ? in fact, the capsule was packed with only nonessential items, in case something went disastrously wrong ? but if all goes well with this mission and others like it, commercial spaceships could be carrying astronauts to and from the space station in three to five years.

"Falcon flew perfectly!!" billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, founder of the SpaceX company, said via Twitter. "Feels like a giant weight just came off my back."

Musk later told reporters: "For us, it's like winning the Super Bowl."

Up to now, flights to the space station were something only major governments had done.

The White House offered congratulations.

"Every launch into space is a thrilling event, but this one is especially exciting," said John Holdren, President Barack Obama's chief science adviser. "This expanded role for the private sector will free up more of NASA's resources to do what NASA does best ? tackle the most demanding technological challenges in space, including those of human spaceflight beyond low-Earth orbit."

NASA is looking to the private sector to take over flights to the space station now that the space shuttle has been retired. Several U.S. companies are vying for the opportunity.

"The significance of this day cannot be overstated," said a beaming NASA Administrator Charles Bolden. "It's a great day for America. It's actually a great day for the world because there are people who thought that we had gone away, and today says, 'No, we're not going away at all.'"

Flight controllers applauded when the Dragon reached orbit nine minutes into the flight. Then they embraced once the solar panels on the craft popped open. Many of the SpaceX controllers wore untucked T-shirts, jeans or shorts, a stark contrast to NASA's suit-and-tie shuttle crowd.

A previous launch attempt, on Saturday, was aborted with a half-second left in the countdown because of a bad valve in one of Falcon's nine engines.

Another important test comes Thursday when the Dragon draws close to the space station. It will undergo practice maneuvers from more than a mile out. If all goes well, docking will occur on Friday. Musk will preside from the company's Mission Control in Hawthorne, Calif.

Since the shuttle's retirement last summer, American astronauts have been hitching rides to the space station aboard Russian rockets, and Russian, Japanese and European ships have been delivering supplies.

SpaceX has spent more than $1 billion on the project.

Musk, the 40-year-old entrepreneur who helped create PayPal and runs the electric car company Tesla Motors, has poured in millions of his own fortune, and NASA has contributed $381 million in seed money in a venture that has been likened to the public-private collaboration that built the Internet and won the West.

Even Musk's rivals were rooting for a successful flight.

"The shuttle may be retired, but the American dream of space exploration is alive and well," said Mark Sirangelo, chairman of Sierra Nevada Corp.'s space systems, which is developing a mini-shuttle to carry space station crews in a few years.

The Dragon capsule will stay at the space station for a week and then splash down in the Pacific, bringing back experiments and equipment. None of the other cargo ships now in use are designed to return safely; they burn up on the way down.

Two more Dragon supply missions are planned this year, regardless of what happens this week.

Aboard the discarded second stage of the rocket were the ashes of more than 300 people, including Mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper and "Star Trek" actor James Doohan, who played Scotty.

Rivera work poised to set new auction record in NY ? Artesia News

(Retrato de Juanita Rosas a los Diez A?os de Edad) that will be auctioned with other Latin American artworks on May 23-24 at Sotheby?s in New York. (AP Photo/Sotheby?s New York)

NEW YORK (AP) ? Mexican artist Diego Rivera?s 1939 oil painting ?Girl in Blue and White? is headlining Sotheby?s Latin American art auction in New York.

If it sells for the high end of its $4 million to $6 million estimate, it could double the artist?s previous record of $3 million dollars.

The painting, ?Ni?a en azul y blanco,? is a portrait of 10-year-old Juanita Rosas and belongs to a period in which Rivera captured the innocence of children. This piece is special because the famed muralist chose it to illustrate the catalog of the National Tribute Exhibition that the Mexican National Institute of Fine Arts organized in 1949 to celebrate his 50 years of painting.

?It is very typical of his work, especially of that period,? Carmen Melian, director of Sotheby?s Latin American Art department, told The Associated Press. Rivera ?painted through the years the children of the help at his home and the neighbor?s, and in particular he painted Juanita several times,? Melian said.

It?s Rivera?s most important painting to be auctioned in decades, according to Sotheby?s, which has promoted it as one of his two biggest paintings outside of Mexico and says it is hitting the market at the right time. Just last year the Museum of Modern Art featured a solo exhibit of Rivera?s work.

?What I love the most is that it was painted in his studio,? Melian said of the painting. ?I have been in his studio and the floor there has been dyed green, that?s why it is green in the piece. And the white wall in the background, with its mix of blue and pink, is almost like a Monet or a Renoir; the front is more realistic, the figure of the kid pops out.?

Rivera?s current record is $3,082,500 for the 1928 oil on canvas ?Baile en Tehuantepec,? (?Dancing in Tehuantepec?) sold in 1995 at Sotheby?s in New York.

?Ni?a en azul y blanco? could even break the auction record for Latin American art, held since 2008 by Mexican Rufino Tamayo?s ?Troubadour,? which fetched $7.2 million.

?You never know,? Melian said. ?You don?t see a piece like this one very often.?

Screening for Lung Cancer Might Benefit Those at Highest Risk

SUNDAY, May 20 (HealthDay News) -- Using low-dose CT scans to screen for lung cancer might save the lives of patients at the greatest risk for the disease, a new analysis suggests.

However, the risks of screening for others aren't clear, the researchers added.

"We have insight into risks, but they are hard to weigh and estimate," said lead researcher Dr. Peter Bach, from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

"It's clear that when you screen you find cancers that otherwise wouldn't appear, and that leads to overtreatment," he said. "It is clear that CTs find lots of things that aren't cancer. About one in five people have something found that will require some sort of follow-up."

There is also an excess radiation risk. In one trial, screening prevented about three deaths per 1,000 people screened, while one in 2,500 might develop cancer from the CT scan, Bach said.

However, in the right population it could theoretically prevent thousands of deaths a year, he explained.

Namely, that population is the heaviest smokers, those who smoke for 30 pack-years or more. A pack-year is the number of cigarettes smoked over time. This means at least a pack a day for 30 years or two packs a day for 15 years.

"For these patients, we recommend that doctors might suggest screening and discuss the risks and benefits," Bach said. "But, no one should be telling people that they must have this test or advertise that it's a lifesaving procedure that will prevent you from dying from lung cancer."

In the end, "there is no substitution for smoking cessation in terms of health benefits," Bach noted.

The report was published online May 20 in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

For the study, Bach's team reviewed 21 studies about the benefits and risks of low-dose CT screening for lung cancer.

One of the studies, the National Lung Screening Trial, included more than 53,000 people and found that screening reduced deaths from lung cancer by 20 percent, the researchers said.

The results of that trial were published last June in the New England Journal of Medicine.

However, the other, smaller trials found no benefit from screening, Bach's team noted.

The study authors found that, overall, 20 percent of patients had a scan that needed follow-up, but only 1 percent had lung cancer.

The studies were done in teaching hospitals with experienced radiologists and cancer doctors, Bach noted.

This report is the basis of the screening recommendations adopted by the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

The recommendations state that heavy smokers aged 55 to 74, and those who have quit in the past 15 years, should be offered screening.

But screening should only be done at hospitals that do a lot of this kind of screening. These are usually large or teaching hospitals, because the value of this screening at community hospitals is not known, Bach added.

Dr. Norman Edelman, chief medical officer at the American Lung Association, called the new study a "thoughtful analysis of an important topic."

The American Lung Association conducted a similar review and came to similar conclusions, he said.

The data suggest that screening heavy smokers is likely to reduce death from lung cancer by about 20 percent and all-cause mortality by about 10 percent, he said.

"Given the large cohort to which it pertains, this would be a significant public health achievement," Edelman stated.

However, there remain many unsettled issues, he said.

"One major issue is whether the same results would be observed in the community as opposed to the controlled academic settings in which the study was done," Edelman said. "Accordingly, the American Lung Association report emphasizes the need for screening to be done in centers which can provide low-dose CT screening and a comprehensive multi-specialty environment, so that finding of suspect nodules can be followed up with appropriate [care] rather than undue risk."

Robert Smith, director of cancer screening at the American Cancer Society, said, "These recommendations are consistent" with screening guidelines from similar medical groups.

However, he believes these guidelines will be refined over the years as new data become available.

"The question remains, who else might you endorse lung cancer screening for," Smith said. "Suppose someone had a 35 pack/year history and they were 35 years old, or what if they were 45 years old and had started smoking at the age of 12."

There may be other levels of risk where screening might be beneficial, Smith said: "We will probably learn a lot from trials that are currently under way."

Norton Internet Security 2007: The New Generation in Internet Security

The Internet is a place where people communicate at a very cheap price. It is where people now do their shopping, do business and trade in the financial market. This is why the Internet is considered as one of the most important tools in the new millennium.

Because of this, all your personal and financial information are stored in your computer, and also in your emails. If you do business in the Internet, important files will also be stored in your computer.

This is why there are people who take advantage of this technology to steal from hardworking and honest people. These people are called hackers and they often commit identity theft. They take control of your computer by putting spyware programs that can be acquired in the Internet.

Spyware works like inviting a stranger right in the comforts of your own home and letting him or her install surveillance equipments around your home. The thought of having a stranger looking at your personal and financial information could make anyone cringe.

This is why you should take all the necessary steps in preventing this stranger to have access to your computer in order to prevent them from stealing from you. Today, there are available software programs that enable you to protect yourself from malicious programs, such as viruses, spywares, and adwares.

One such program is developed by Norton. Norton is a company that specializes in computer security and is one of the most popular and most reputable companies in the world in terms of computer security. They provide one of the best quality software programs to protect you from these malicious software programs.

One of the latest developments of Norton Security by Symantec Corp. is the Norton Internet Security 2007. This particular program is still in development and is now available in Beta version. Norton Internet Security 2007 offers one of a kind Internet security that will protect your computer from viruses, adware, spyware, hackers, and spam. All the necessary protection for your computer is integrated in the new software program offered by Norton.

Here are some of the features available in Norton Internet Security 2007:

? Automatically filters spam and dangerous phishing emails.
? Automatically removes Trojan programs, viruses, and worms.
? Automatically blocks intruders, hackers, and identity thieves.

With all these features, you can be sure that your computer will be safe from malicious software programs circulating in the Internet today. It also has features that will automatically scan emails and instant message attachments for viruses, worms, and Trojan programs.

Although the Norton Internet Security 2007 is still in its Beta version, all the features from the previous version of Norton Internet Security is also integrated with the new Norton Internet Security 2007 and is also integrated with other features to make it easier for you to use it and also get more security when you surf the internet.

Norton Internet Security 2007 Beta version is now available for download online. However, it only has a one-day trial period and you wouldn?t really get to try and test the full capabilities of this program. But with the positive reviews, you will see that it will be worth it to wait for the final release of the program and get yourself secured from viruses, adwares, spywares, hackers, and identity thieves.

UN nuclear chief seeks pact on wider Iran probes

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) ? The head of the U.N. nuclear agency pushed Monday for a breakthrough pact with Iran to resume inspections into suspected secret atomic weapons work and possibly set in motion further dealmaking when envoys from Tehran and world powers gather later this week in Baghdad.

The mission by International Atomic Energy Agency chief Yukiya Amano ? his first to Iran since taking the post in 2009 ? raised speculation about greater flexibility by Iranian officials as they struggle to balance the blows from Western sanctions and their insistence never to abandon the country's nuclear program.

But any Iranian cooperation ? including possibly opening up a military site to U.N. inspectors ? will carry reciprocal demands that the West may consider reaching too far, too soon.

Tehran has already signaled its goal before Wednesday's talks: Pressing the U.S. and Europe to roll back sanctions that have hit critical oil exports and blacklisted the country from international banking networks. The West's opening gambit, meanwhile, may aim at one of Iran's most prized advances ? its ability to make nuclear fuel.

A main concern is Iran's production of uranium enriched to 20 percent, which is far higher than needed for regular energy-producing reactors but used in medical research. The U.S. and allies fear the higher-enriched uranium could be quickly boosted to warhead-grade material.

Iran denies it seeks nuclear arms and says its reactors are only for power and medical applications.

U.S. officials have said Washington will not backpedal from its stance that Iran must fully halt uranium enrichment. But speculation is increasing that the priorities have shifted to block the 20 percent enrichment and perhaps allow ? at least for the moment ? Iran to maintain lower-level nuclear fuel production.

Iranian officials could package such a scenario as a victory for their domestic audience. In Israel, it would likely be greeted with dismay and widen rifts between the Obama administration and Israeli officials who keep open the threat of military action against Iran's nuclear sites.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned against concessions, saying world powers should make "clear and unequivocal demands" that Iran stop all of its nuclear enrichment activity.

"Iran wants to destroy Israel and it is developing nuclear weapons to fulfill that goal," Netanyahu said at a conference for civil servants in Jerusalem. "Against this malicious intention, leading world powers need to display determination and not weakness. They should not make any concessions to Iran."

In Warsaw, Iran's ambassador to Poland, Samad Ali Lakizadeh, said Monday that he believes the Baghdad talks offer a "very good chance and opportunity to solve many problems, provided that our rights are respected" ? a reference to U.N. nuclear treaties that permit signatory nations, such as Iran, to enrich uranium.

Optimism for the Baghdad round was further boosted by the U.N. nuclear chief's visit to Iran ? just days after talks with Iranian envoys in Vienna that were described as making progress.

Amano is focused on getting Iran agreement to allow IAEA probes of various high-profile Iranian sites, including the Parchin military complex southeast of Tehran, where the agency believes Iran in 2003 ran explosive tests needed to set off a nuclear charge. The suspected blasts took place inside a pressure chamber.

Iran has never said whether the chamber existed, but describes Parchin as a conventional military site. Iran, however, has blocked IAEA inspection requests for more than four years.

A deal on Parchin could give Iran some leverage going into the Baghdad talks with a six-nation bloc comprising both friends and foes: the permanent U.N. Security Council members plus Germany.

"Nothing is certain in life, in diplomacy," Amano told reporters before departing from Vienna. "But there has been good progress.

"I really think this is the right time to reach agreement," he added.

Amano's talks included Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili, as well as Iran's foreign minister and other officials including the head of Iran's nuclear agency, Fereidoun Abbasi.

Amano said his meetings were held amid a "good atmosphere," but neither side mentioned Parchin in remarks to the press after Monday's meeting, keeping their statements general.

Iranian lawmaker Heshmatollah Falahtpisheh told The Associated Press earlier Monday that Tehran will likely accept more inspections of Parchin "if it feels there is good will within the (IAEA)."

But Falahtpisheh, a member of the influential parliamentary committee of national security and foreign policy, warned that this new openness will likely come with expectations that the West would in return ease international sanctions on Iran.

"In opening up to more inspections, Iran aims at lowering the crisis over its nuclear case," said Falahtpisheh. "But if the sanctions continue, Iran would stop this."

A political analyst in Tehran, Hamid Reza Shokouhi, said Iran is carefully watching to see if the West shows more "flexibility and pays attention to Iranian demands" during Amano's trip.

"Then Iran will show flexibility, too," Shokouhi said.

But some Iranian media was critical of Amano and the IAEA, which could indicate some displeasure with Monday's talks.

The semiofficial Fars news agency, which is close to Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard, said that Amano should "avoid playing for others ground" ? a reference to claims by hardliners that the IAEA is a tool of the West and its allies.

In a sign of ebbing market worries, oil prices have steadily fallen since Iran and world powers resumed talks in April in Istanbul. Fears of supply disruptions because of military conflict or Iranian shipping blockades helped drive prices above $106 a barrel earlier this year. Oil rose to slightly above $92 per barrel Monday in New York.

"May is shaping up to be a key month for international efforts to achieve a diplomatic breakthrough on the Iranian nuclear program," Barclays said in a report.

Iran, Syria among top issues for G-8 and NATO

CAMP DAVID, Md. (AP) ? President Barack Obama and leaders of other major industrial powers grappled Friday with options to solidify world resolve against development of an Iranian nuclear bomb and encourage a more forceful response to worsening violence in Syria.

Obama will have the ear of key players on both issues during back-to-back G-8 and NATO summits that will be dominated with discussions of European economic woes and Afghanistan. Talks about Syria and Iran will be aimed directly and indirectly at Russia, a sometime protector of both Iran and Syria and the chief blockade to such U.S. goals as an arms embargo on Syria.

The gatherings come in the shadow of the eurozone debt crisis and plummeting public support for the war in Afghanistan. Political and economic chaos in Greece and Spain underscored just how fragile Europe's economy remains after an eviscerating austerity regime. Germany's finance minister predicted Friday that the crisis could last up to another two years.

Most of the leaders are part of overlapping international coalitions formed to address the Iranian nuclear problem and the newer crisis in Syria, where an estimated 9,000 people have died in more than a year of violence that arose from the pro-democracy Arab uprisings.

Faced with implacable Russian opposition to significant new United Nations punishments on the Syrian regime of President Bashar Assad, U.S. officials are trying to get consensus among other allies about ways to promote Assad's ouster.

A senior U.S. official said one goal of Friday's closed-door discussion at the secluded presidential retreat in Camp David, Md., was to impress on Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev that other nations that share Russia's usual role at the forefront of international diplomacy are seeking ways to address the Syria debacle without Russian help.

Obama greeted each leader by name, calling Medvedev "my friend," before the group went inside for dinner.

The United States wants to avoid escalating a confrontation with Moscow over Syria, the official said, but wants Medvedev to hear the depth of international outrage. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal diplomacy.

A senior Obama administration official said Friday night that the Group of Eight leaders unified behind a dual track effort of sanctions and diplomacy toward Iran and agreed to focus on political transition in Syria.

The eight leaders gathered for a dinner of more than two hours in the secluded woods of Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland's Catoctin Mountains.

The official spoke on the condition of anonymity to share details of the private session.

Russia is a partner with the United States and European nations in containing Iran's nuclear program, although with China it has blocked the most severe penalties the United Nations Security Council might impose. A U.N.-affiliated negotiating group including Russia will meet with Iranian officials next week in Baghdad, Iraq.

On Iran, the U.S. official said each of the leaders, including Medvedev, indicated that Iran has the burden of proving that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.

As for Syria, the official said the leaders continued to back the peace plan brokered by special envoy Kofi Annan brokered in April, including its call for political transition. But they did not go beyond that.

U.S. officials say the economic pressure of sanctions is key to drawing Iran back to the bargaining table this spring after a long hiatus.

"Each member of the G-8 is a core member of this sanctions effort," White House national security adviser Thomas Donilon said Thursday. "Each member has been absolutely essential to really putting in place what has been an extraordinarily effective and, I think most people would say, surprisingly effective sanctions effort."

Iran says it is enriching only to create nuclear fuel. Its refusal to halt enrichment has provoked U.N. and other sanctions, including U.S. and European Union penalties meant to cripple its oil exports ? its main revenue source ? that are to fully take effect in a few weeks.

"The message will be that the Iranians should seize this opportunity" for talks, Donilon said. "And while this goes on, in parallel, the sanctions and pressure effort will continue, led by the United States and the others who will be at the table on Friday evening."

Syria is a much harder case, in part because Russia and China oppose U.N. action that could set a precedent for outside interference in internal ethnic or human rights matters, and partly because there is no international appetite for a military confrontation with Assad.

Syrian forces on Friday fired on protesters holding the largest opposition marches yet in Aleppo, a sign of rising anti-regime sentiment in the country's biggest city, which has largely remained supportive of President Bashar Assad throughout the 15-month uprising.

The head of the U.N. observer mission in Syria warned that neither his team nor armed action could solve the country's crisis, and called on all sides to discuss a solution. But the regime kept up its assaults on opposition areas and protests, while the head of Syria's largest exile opposition group dismissed the U.N.'s plan as unrealistic.

The White House abruptly moved the G-8 session to Camp David earlier this spring, after months of planning for a Chicago venue. A desire for seclusion and intimacy was one reason and a gesture to Russia was another.

Russia is opposed to a NATO plan for a missile defense shield in Europe that will be detailed at the NATO summit Sunday in Chicago, causing Russian President Vladimir Putin to let NATO know he did not want to be invited to the alliance meeting.

Separating the two sessions was supposed to make it easier for Putin to attend one and not the other. But Putin made his own abrupt change, telling Obama last week that he would skip the gathering and send Medvedev in his place.

The administration denied speculation that the sessions were moved for security reasons. Past G-8 meetings have seen large and sometimes violent protests by activists opposed to the increasing globalization of world economies. Street violence overshadowed the 2001 summit in Genoa, Italy. Critics have accused the G-8 of representing the interests of an elite group of industrialized nations to the detriment of the needs of the wider world. Since Genoa, the meetings have been held in increasingly isolated locations to shield leaders from protests, playing into criticism of the G-8's closed-door image.

Obama, an infrequent visitor to Camp David, is putting the presidential hideaway on full display for the G-8, the largest gathering of foreign leaders ever to assemble there. The leaders will stroll leafy paths to rustic meetings halls and bed down in the 11 residential cabins. Four African leaders will join them for lunch Saturday.

The G-8 is made up of the leaders of the United States, Japan, Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Russia. The meetings began in 1975 at a forum instigated by France, where leaders of the six largest economic powers agreed to annual meetings. Canada joined a year later, making it the G-7. Russia was brought into the organization in 1997, six years after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The European Union is represented but is not granted the power to act as host of the annual sessions or to serve as the rotating leader.

Obama holds the chairmanship this year.
